Hi folks!

I hope end of summer/back-to-school has been treating everyone well enough.

For today's post, I’m excited to share a personal essay by my research assistant, Madysen Luebke. When I started working with Madysen last year, she mentioned that one of her areas of interest was the intersection of disability and motherhood. So, for her guest essay, I asked Madysen to share more about the perspective she brings when it comes to Real Self-Care as the child of a disabled parent.

Madysen’s poignant essay touches on an important fact that is too often overlooked: If we live long enough, every single one of us will become disabled. So how can we incorporate the inclusive worldview of the disabled and those who know and love them now?

xo,

Pooja
